Fencing your Roof

Deuteronomy 22:8 (NKJV)
When you build a new house, then you shall make a parapet for your roof, that you may not bring guilt of bloodshed on your household if anyone falls from it.

The spirit tells me by looking at the above law that I must make sure my property is safe. If I have a pothole in my yard that is not easily visible and someone falls in and hurts themselves, I could be held liable (guilt of bloodshed will be on my household). If I had exposed wires though out my house and someone comes over to visit me, and gets hurt because of the wires, again, I could be held liable. If I had a swingset that I knew needed repair and a kid came over and hurt himself because I didn't repair the swing, again, I could be held liable.

Some will point to the above verse and claim that I am a sinner for not putting a fence around my roof. I will point out to them that my roof is safe because it is a pitched roof and that only experienced roofers would ever go up there. I believe that I am in compliance with Yahweh's law. Again, I'll be judged by Him for my actions, you will be judged by Him for yours. Read the scriptures, meditate on the Law, do your best to follow God's commandments, know that you are still damned without grace, and I am sure you will do fine.
